Tesla’s 3.8 megawatt solar PV array and 12 megawatt-hour Megapack will power a new bitcoin mining facility in Texas, together with Jack Dorsey and Blockstream
Blockstream co-founder and CEO Adam Back, a British cryptographer and a member of the “cypherpunk” crew, told CNBC on the sidelines of the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami that the mining facility is designed to be a proof of concept for 100% renewable energy bitcoin mining at scale.
Blockstream and Jack Dorsey had previously in June already announced that they were collaborating to build an open-source and solar-powered bitcoin mining facility in the United States.
